How to Be Physically Fit: A Beginner's Guide
Fitness,
like many things in life, can seem complex and confusing if you don’t know what
you’re doing. The good news is that becoming physically fit doesn’t have to be
hard. It just takes time and patience to figure out what works best for your
body and your lifestyle. This beginner’s guide to being physically fit will
walk you through the basics of weightlifting, flexibility training, aerobic
exercise, and nutrition so that you can develop or maintain a healthy lifestyle
that keeps your body strong and active no matter what challenges life throws at
you.
Eat Clean
You can't out-exercise a bad diet. Eating clean is 80% of the battle when it comes to being physically fit. But what does that mean, exactly? Eating clean means consuming whole, unprocessed foods as often as possible. This means ditching the processed junk in favor of fruits, vegetables, lean protein, and healthy fats. With physical training, eat two hours before your workout so you don't get hangry or dizzy during exercise. It also means finding ways to incorporate physical activity into your day on top of workouts.
Work Out Every Day
Working
out every day is the key to being physically fit. But it's not just about going
to the gym; it's about finding an activity that you enjoy and that fits into
your lifestyle. That could be anything from hiking to yoga to playing tennis.
And don't forget the benefits of physical activity: it can help improve your
mood, reduce stress, and boost your energy levels. 30 minutes of daily exercise
at least 5 days a week are should be our aim. Or try something new for 30
minutes a day, five days a week!
Walk 20,000 Steps per Day
Assuming you are starting from zero, walk at least 20,000 steps per day. This is the minimum amount of physical activity required to see health benefits, according to a 2017 study. And the benefits of physical activity are many: better sleep, more energy, improved mood, decreased risk of chronic disease, and more.
Lift Weights
One of the best ways to get physically fit is to lift weights. Lifting weights has a lot of benefits, including increased muscle mass, increased strength, and improved bone density. If you're just starting out, it's important to find a weightlifting routine that works for you and to start slowly. Once you're comfortable with lifting weights, you can increase the amount of weight and the number of repetitions you do.
Stay Active
Staying
active is important for overall health and wellness, but it can be difficult to
know how to get started on a fitness journey. However, there are many benefits
of physical activity, including reducing the risk of chronic diseases,
improving mental health, and more. And, there are plenty of ways to get started
with physical training. So, if you're looking to get fit, here's a beginner's
guide on how to do just that. If you have some extra time in your day, try
incorporating one or two exercise sessions into your routine each week. You'll
find that taking 10-15 minutes out of your day will help boost your energy
levels, improve your mood, and reduce stress levels. Or alternatively, set
aside a few days per week as exercise days where you plan to go for a walk or
play sports like tennis or squash instead of sitting in front of the TV.
Drink Water
Dehydration can cause fatigue, headache, and muscle cramps, so it's important to drink plenty of fluids when you're exercising. Water is the best choice for most people, but if you're exercising for more than an hour, you may want to consider a sports drink. Physical activity can also cause your body to lose electrolytes, so it's important to replenish those as well.
Get Sleep
One
of the most important things you can do for your physical fitness is to get
enough sleep. Some people need to sleep more than eight hours every day. But
if you're trying to improve your physical fitness, you may need even more.
Studies have shown that people who get more sleep have an easier time sticking
to their physical training regimen and see better results. So if you're looking
to get physically fit, make sure you're getting enough shut-eye.
